Let the conversation continue! #rockthemenopause

In Paris rocking the meno, lol!

In Paris rocking the meno, lol!

Wow. Just wow. THANK YOU ALL.

I had such an incredible and positive response from my post last week.

It was so awesome to hear from so many of you sharing your experiences and what worked for you. Also those who are on the other side, you were so open to say that it gets better. Thank the lord or I think I would lose my mind, well what is left of it. And to quote one of my close friends “I haven’t felt this unhinged or narcoleptic since 1990.”

Your words of encouragement, solidarity and understanding were overwhelming. The one common thread that I took away from them all was the need to keep this conversation going. Keep sharing. So here I am on week 2 to share with you.

Let me share what some of you mentioned really helped. These are your tricks/tips:

This book: The Wisdom of Menopause by Christine Northrup (recommended by 2 friends)

Hiring a Nutritionist, I am on this at the moment and speaking with 2 this week :) Diet is a big one. Less sugar and alcohol, more of the good super greens. I am generally pretty good, I am curious to see what they say. I will fill you in.

A daily dose of soy milk. I was always avoiding soy when I had hormones, makes sense now I need them. Why did’t I think of it???! lol!

Essential oils, one called CarryCalm. This friend also sent me her course details on Hormones, Homeostasis and Happiness. If you are in Victoria and you want me to connect you let me know. She is one of the kindest people I know.

Yam Cream, I also forgot this was used by Samantha in Sex and the City.

Birth control. I am on the pill, the Mirena Coil was also popular with 3 saying it was life changing.

I am for sure on the way to understanding more about the meno. I am so happy to have had many of you say how great it was to be having the conversation. Those of you who went through it alone and you are determined to share so no one else has too, THANK YOU. Men commenting that they had no clue and appreciating the heads up so they can support the women in their lives. Let’s keep sharing and keep the conversation going!

I am not too sure if it was the release of saying this all out loud, or if I am on a hormonal upswing, but I am feeling SO much better. Not 100% but way more me. It is such a relief.
